It often has red-tinged stems and leaves and you can just make out the out-of-focus white flowers at the top (other Willowherbs don't have white flowers, American Willowherb sometimes can have!).

Leaves either have no stalk (left) or a short stalk (right) and stems are covered with glandular hairs. Upper stem leavs look a wee bit like Square-Stalked Willowherb, but those have a satin sheen and are more strap-shaped than this.
